Commerce Committee Chairperson

 

The Campbellville Community Association (DCCA) is a registered not-for-profit organization that exists for the primary purpose of improving the quality of life in Campbellville and the surrounding area, by representing the interests of the community. Local businesses comprise one segment of our community. The DCCA requires someone to lead the Commerce Committee to develop and implement ideas to help business owners gain value from their membership in DCCA, by networking, learning about new marketing ideas, volunteering, and finding opportunities within the community to promote themselves, all with the aim of helping the community become an even better place to live.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Board of Directors and the Commerce Committee members to develop ideas for sessions for the business members of the DCCA that will add value through information or new ideas and concepts.
  • Organize and chair Commerce Committee presentations.
  • Chair the Commerce Committee meetings.
  • Keep the DCCA website Business Directory current.
  • Contact potential new DCCA members from the local business community.

 

Requirements/Skills:

  • Must be a member of the DCCA.
  • Friendly, positive approach to idea generation, eliciting input and cooperation.
  • Comfort with contacting new businesses.
  • Well organized.

 

Time Commitment:

  • This is a volunteer position. It is for a 1-year term, but ideally, we would like someone willing to consider this role for more than 1 year.
  • Up to 4 Commerce Committee meetings a year. Each is approximately 2 hours long but will require some preparation time and time afterward to prepare minutes.
  • Approximately 2 training/information sessions per year for DCCA business members requiring planning time of about 5 hours to arrange speakers, space and communications about the event.
