Gazebo Park Planting - 1st June 2013

On Saturday 1st June 2013, .  we held a  very successful "planting event" at the Gazebo Park.

Conservation Halton prepared the ground beside the pond and provided us with a wealth of native plants - all we had to do is plant them!

Over 20 volunteers came  along at 10am to help and enjoy eda lunch at The Ice House afterwards.

The outcome has been a tremendous success - a barrier is beginning to establish between the pond and the grass - and hopefully we will have another goose-free zone in 2014.

DCCA Annual General Meeting and Election of Board of Directors

We invite you to participate in the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the DCCA, to be held Thursday, April 24th  at 7:30 pm at the Lions Hall in Campbellville.

The President of the Campbellville Community Association, Liz Lambrick, sent an email in late February to let you know about the new focus of DCCA on being a strong voice for residents, to make this community the best place to live.  One change the Board is proposing to assist in the refocusing efforts, is to fill the Board of Directors with people who have the range of skills needed to move the Association in this new direction. This is a change, as in the past, each Director was also the Chair of a committee. Moving forward, Committee Chairs will not need to be members of the Board, and members of the Board do not need to take on the responsibility of Chairing a committee. This will free Committee Chairs to focus on their activities, and the Board to focus on the direction of the DCCA.  In order to reconstitute the Board, the DCCA is looking for people with skills such as communications, planning, governance, legal, etc.

The AGM will include elections for the Board of Directors for the 2014-2015 DCCA business year.

The AGM will be an opportunity to hear about DCCA's plans for the 100th Birthday of Campbellville on June 21st, and to join one or more of the DCCA Committees. There are no nominations required for appointment to a committee. Simply speak to the Committee Chair regarding your interest. Your ideas and energy are absolutely encouraged and appreciated!
