While in the early years settlers did not enjoy good transportation service, there were trains providing service by 1877 or 1878. In 1888 a line was running from Guelph Junction to Guelph, and later to Goderich. Moffat station was built about 1909. In 1911 another line was built from Guelph Junction to Hamilton.
A bus service made the round trip through the township morning and evening from Oakville to Guelph everyday. Few municipalities had as good a transport system as Nassagaweya.
